It was launched in 2008 as a hatchback version of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, but following its success as a car, it was converted into a sedan. It has a 1.3-Litre K series engine, which runs on a combination of petrol and natural gas to reduce carbon emissions. It is available in two trims: VDi and ZDi. Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire has a four-speed manual transmission, with an option of a five-speed automatic transmission.
